°ʷʼ¼ Students told about Summer School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University

While international students come to Polytechnic University for the courses of the International Polytechnic Summer School, many °ʷʼ¼ students go abroad for studying at summer schools of other universities. This year, four students of the Institute of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering and Transport (IMMET) went to the summer school of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU; PRC). The trip was quite unusual: the young people went to the Shanghai University under educational certificates presented to Polytechnic University by vice-president for education, recruitment of students and additional programs of SJTU Ms. Xuemin SUE during the visit of the Chinese delegation to °ʷʼ¼. Polytechnic University students had to get through a serious contest, and it is fair to say that the ones to go to Shanghai were the best. Upon return, the students shared their impressions with employees of the °ʷʼ¼ International Services. Student Exchanges and WC2: What Is New in the Strategic Partnership between Polytechnic University and PolyU

On June 5, a delegation from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), a °ʷʼ¼ strategic partner, led by Vice President on student issues Professor Geoffrey Qiping SHEN visited Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. Cooperation between the two universities is developing in a very dynamic rhythm and covers several areas: °ʷʼ¼ and PolyU interact within the frame of the WC2 university network, while creation of a joint postgraduate studying program is under discussion. Besides this, starting of 2016, 7 postgraduate students from the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (IAMM) and Institute of Industrial Management, Economics, and Trade (IIMET) went to Hong Kong for studying, while two more postgraduate students, who have passed through a competitive selection, will go to PolyU in September 2018. News from the Representative Office: the First °ʷʼ¼ Alumni Reunion in the Heavenly Empire

The numerous partners of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in the People’s Republic of China often name the official Representative Office of °ʷʼ¼ in Shanghai a bridge between the Russian university and China. First Chinese students appeared at St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute back in the 1950s. The 6th Chinese International Technology Fair: the Overall Results

On April 21, 2018, the 6th Chinese (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) has finished its operation. This year, more than 1000 hi-tech companies from 24 countries took part in this broad-scale event. It is to be recalled that Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University along with the Government of St. Petersburg had presented a stand of innovation research developments.

During the entire fair, its participants were engaged in an intensive and diverse business program; the St. Petersburg delegation took part in many of the events. Read more

The 6th Chinese International Technology Fair Has Formally Started in Shanghai

On April 19, 2018, the 6th Chinese (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) started in Shanghai. Together with the Government of St. Petersburg, °ʷʼ¼ is presenting a joint stand with the latest innovation research developments and achievements of Russian scientists.

At the opening ceremony, RPC Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Lee MEN, RPC Deputy Minister of Finances Wang BINNAN, Deputy Head of Shanghai Administration Wu Qing and others greeted the public with warm welcome remarks. Read more

News from the °ʷʼ¼ Office in Shanghai: Polytechnic University Organized a Russian Week in Harbin

Last September, the Russian Week in Shanghai organized by °ʷʼ¼ with support of the RF Consulate General in Shanghai caused a great interest of Chinese high school and university students, teachers, and those who study Russian on their own. For this reason, in March 2018, another Russian Week took place in China. This time, the city of the event was Harbin. Chinese students and instructors from 12 universities of Harbin, along with students and teachers from nearby cities had been learning Russian for a whole week under the aegis of the Heilongjiang University. More than 250 participants took part in the event. The classes, taught in an interactive format, were dedicated to various topics. Read more

°ʷʼ¼ alumna Hao Mayfen: "The polytechnic education gives a powerful start to a successful career"

The Shanghai Representational Office of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University quite often receives thank-you letters from Chinese prospective students and their parents whom the office staff helped with organizational matters regarding their enrollment and studying at °ʷʼ¼, tell about the student life in Russia, and provide young people and their relatives with all sorts of support. Quite recently, a graduate of Polytechnic University Hao Mayfen visited the Representational Office. In 2008, she graduated from the School of Economics and Management (presently, Institute of Industrial Management, Economics, and Trade) and returned to China with the Bachelor's degree. At present, she is working at the leading Asian agricultural corporation producing food products with more than 400 industrial enterprises in the region. Hao came to the Representational Office not only to thank its employees but also to express her readiness to help in communication with Chinese prospective students, employment assistance to graduates, and establishing contacts with business partners. On February 8, 2018, a delegation from Harbin Engineering University (HEU), PRC, visited Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University with the purpose to discuss prospects for further cooperation. The delegation included Assistant to HEU Rector Yan RUJIAN, Director of the Department of International Relations Liu ZHIQIANG, Director of the Center of Russian Studies Gao TIANMING, and other university professors and associate professors. In 2018 four PhD students from °ʷʼ¼ are going to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) to undertake internships. They've got this opportunity as the winners of the internship competition for PhD students which PolyU had held for the second time. The previous year's winner has just returned to St. Petersburg.
