In his greeting to the festival participants, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that our country has already held such large-scale youth forums three times, and each time they confirmed that there are no borders and dividing lines for young generations.

Now representatives of almost three hundred different nations have gathered on this arena. We in Russia know very well what a wealth such diversity is, what a powerful positive charge of development and spiritual mutual enrichment it possesses. Multinational unity is the greatest value for us, and it largely determines the principles by which our state and society live and develop today, said Vladimir Putin.

The business program of Polytechnic University began on March 2 with the round table «Youth Policy-2030: the contribution of Russian-national (Slavic) universities in the CIS countries». The event was attended by Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dmitry Guzhelya, Deputy Director General of the ANO «Russia — the Country of Opportunities», Denis Fomin-Nilov, Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, and Edward Sandoyan, Rector of the Russian-Armenian University, as well as representatives of Rosmolodezh and the Russian university community. Polytechnic University was represented by Rector Andrei Rudskoi and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitry Arseniev. The event was moderated by Vadim Smirnov, a referent of the Russian President’s Office for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.

The participants discussed the issues of educational, scientific and extracurricular activities of Slavic universities, as well as the integration of students from CIS countries into the Russian cultural space. As Andrei Rudskoi said in his speech, Peter the Great Polytechnic University has been conducting strategic cooperation with Slavic universities of Armenia and Belarus since 2014.

A new stage of cooperation began in 2021: the Russian Ministry of Education and Science formed a target support for °ʷʼ¼ and Siberian Federal University as part of the state task to support and support the implementation of development programs for Slavic universities. Based on the experience of the «5-100» and Priority 2030 projects, Polytechnic University held several strategic sessions with RAU and BRU, where the development programs of these two universities were developed and approved.

Naturally, an important component of the development programs is youth policy — involving students, postgraduates, young scientists in the life of the university, as well as providing them with opportunities for self-development and self-realization. This includes youth projects, youth entrepreneurship, student communities on topical areas of development, as well as various schools and trainings, said Andrei Rudskoi, Rector of °ʷʼ¼. I am convinced that uniting the youth of our brotherly countries is the most important task, because our future depends on what worldview we instill in students now.

After the round table, informal communication continued in the Polytechnic Hall. Rector of °ʷʼ¼ Andrei Rudskoi told about the main directions of the university’s activities to Vadim Smirnov, the representative of the Russian President’s Office for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and Dmitry Guzhelya, Deputy Director General of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization «Russia — a Country of Opportunities». During the inspection of the festival’s exposition Andrei Rudskoi met with the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Denis Sekirinsky. We would like to remind you that this week he  to °ʷʼ¼.

°ʷʼ¼ is one of the leaders of Russian education, and such a large-scale event as the World Youth Festival could not take place without its participation. WYF-2024 brings together creative, active and progressive young people from all over the world. These are the young people who in a few years will determine the development and progress in their countries, who will become opinion leaders and innovators, including in engineering and technology. It is these young people who are important for the polytechnic community, they are the ones who come to study at Polytechnic. Polytechnic University is expanding its global presence, responding to today’s global changes, promoting our values and achievements. And our goal is to contribute to the development of the potential of modern youth and education in Russia, Africa and around the world, said Dmitry Arseniev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of °ʷʼ¼.
