°ʷʼ¼ hosted an Open Day for foreigners

Polytechnic University held an  dedicated to the start of the admission campaign. On March 25, representatives of international services, institutes and higher schools told about the admission process, educational opportunities and answered questions of prospective students.

International students of °ʷʼ¼ who shared their experience and impressions of studying at the university

Dmitry Arseniev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of °ʷʼ¼, made a welcoming speech: Polytechnic University is one of the most international universities in Russia. More than 5000 international students from 107 countries study at our university, creating a special youth community with its diversity and inclusiveness. We often talk about Polytechnic University as a friendly family. Because Polytechnic is a home for students from all over the world, and everyone can find help and support here. Our goal is to contribute to the development of the potential of modern youth and education in Russia and around the world.

Jamilya Idrisova, Senior Lecturer of the Higher School of Technosphere Safety, presented the programs of the Institute of Civil Engineering. She paid special attention to the rather new and unique «Emergency Preparedness and Response» program. This is the world’s first program on emergency preparedness and response to nuclear and radiological accidents. It was developed jointly with the IAEA and Rosatom.

Representatives of the Institute of Energy told about the implemented international programs: Natalia Donmez, coordinator of foreign students of IE, Maxim Konyushin, coordinator of the international educational program «Nuclear Power Engineering», Ekaterina Sokolova, deputy director for international activities, and Yaroslav Vladimirov, coordinator of the program «Power Plant Engineering»

Our university holds high positions in the subject rankings for business and economics. We offer a wide range of programs in English for international students, as well as give them the opportunity to take internships in Russian companies and become a competitive professional in the international and Russian market, said Nikita Lukashevich, Deputy Director for International Activities of the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade.

This year, for the first time since the pandemic, we are holding the summer school in a face-to-face format. More than 35 courses are waiting for students in seven areas, such as: engineering and natural sciences, digital and information technologies, energy technologies, social sciences, business and management, and, of course, Russian language and culture. Traditionally, a significant part of the schedule consists of a cultural program. We hope that participation in summer school programs will be an interesting and useful experience for our students, said Deputy Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility Zarina Asadova.

Also joining the online broadcast were international students of °ʷʼ¼ who shared their experience and impressions of studying at the university.

It is a great honor for me to participate and speak at today’s event, as I am a first-year Master’s student at Polytechnic University majoring in Microelectronics of Info-Communication Systems. I chose Polytechnic because it has a high THE rating and is one of the most internationalized universities in Russia, said Liyuan Zhang, winner of the Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project.
