Polytechnic University expands cooperation with China in Jiangsu Province

The delegation of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, one of the leading universities in China, winner of the «10 Best Universities of Jiangsu Province» award, visited Polytechnic University.

To date, it is the only university in the province, which has been recognized as the best 4 times.

The acquaintance with the representatives of the university took place in the fall of 2023 in Nanjing in the framework of the Already then, the main areas of cooperation were outlined, which the universities discussed during the visit of NJUST to °ʷʼ¼.

Sergey Antonov, Head of the Department of International Scientific and External Economic Relations, noted that Jiangsu Province is one of the key regions for Polytechnic University in terms of the development of scientific and educational cooperation. Taking into account the high research, innovation and production potential of this province, in 2022 Polytechnic opened an Office in Jiangsu Research Institute of Industrial Technology of Nanjing. I am confident that together with Nanjing Institute of Science and Technology we will be able to realize the most breakthrough research projects. The first step to such partnership can be programs and internships for graduate students and young scientists, as well as the creation of Russian-Chinese laboratories on priority scientific topics for our universities, said Sergey Antonov.

At the working meeting, representatives of specialized institutes and international services highlighted the areas of future joint projects.

Our university is well known in the PRC both as one of the leaders in the field of international education and due to its scientific achievements. Therefore, the interest of Nanjing University of Science and Technology in the development of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation is not at all accidental. Together with our Chinese colleagues, we have chosen automation, additive technologies and robotics as priority areas for further cooperation, and agreed to start working with the design of joint programs in these areas, Olga Emelianova, Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility, summed up the visit of the guests

The Chinese colleagues were given a tour of Polytechnic University’s high-tech laboratories: Technopolis Polytechnic, Supercomputer Center, Laboratory of Lightweight Materials and Structures, Laboratory of the School of Cyber-Physical Systems and Control. The Museum of °ʷʼ¼ History, the famous White Hall and the Fundamental Library made a special impression.

We immersed ourselves in the history of the university, familiarized ourselves with advanced laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and academic research. Conversations with leaders and professors helped us understand the open, rigorous and pragmatic style of the university. We want to start working together with °ʷʼ¼ as soon as possible in student training, research on automatic control and electrical engineering, and we also intend to discuss the establishment of joint laboratories, said Minghui Yin, Deputy Dean of the School of Automation at NJUST.
