Naceredine Ziouani, Algeria (Master’s program “Foreign Diplomacy”)
The city of the Tsars, churches, cathedrals, rivers and beautiful people. Being in St. Petersburg, was one of the most craziest dreams I ever had. Just thinking about it filled me with joy. The Polytechnic University offered me this golden opportunity. Despite the burocratic difficulties and lack of Russian language, we are adapting in the Russian culture day by day. This also helps us in boosting our morale and developing our self confidence for the long run. The living conditions provided to us are of international standard, and in the university campus I meet a lot of people from different cultures and i also made some very close friends. While out on the Streets, especially Nevsky prospect, I get an opportunity to admire the ecstatic beauty of the city. The night time, makes the city even more adorable. If I were a poet I could have written volumes just on the Irresistible nature of this lovely city. Every means of transportation is marvels in itself. I usually use the metro, which is fast, convenient and alive thanks to the musicians playing in and out the subways. Buses, trams and taxis are also available as per your convenience. There are innumerous restaurants, fast food joints, hotels and other setups where you can satisfy your hunger whatever type of food you desire. The markets are huge and fills all your needs and even more. As a conclusion, I would like to emphasize that the city embraced me as its own, I must admit that I feel blessed having this lifetime opportunity to study and live in this amazing place, hoping that someday I can pay this lovely country back a small part of all these pleasure they are providing.

I'm really happy to be able to take a master's degree in the Polytechnic University. The school's teaching facilities and living conditions are also very good. The Professors / lecturers have been very professional and core subjects have been adequately covered in the first semester. Special emphasis was paid towards assignments / practical tasks, which were designed to make us apply ourselves and enhance the level of our understanding. This is a good opportunity to interact with students of different nationalities at the personal and academic levels. In addition, I tried to broaden my horizons by discovering the romantic St. Petersburg.

During this period of Russian life, I have a clearer understanding that I want to learn English well and professional knowledge well, and I should find the direction that I am really interested in. Only by doing what I really like can people shine. I have benefited a lot from studying with Professor Anton in recent months. He is also a teacher and friend. Besides, Professor Anton's concern for our life makes me feel very kind and friendly when I am far away from other countries. Professor Sophia, the Russian teacher, helped us learn Russian. She stimulated our interest in learning Russian. Mr. Ahmad Alali Alkhalaf is a very handsome and serious teacher. I like the way he teaches. His rigorous teaching attitude is worth learning. Of course, there are many teachers who teach us knowledge. They are also excellent. Thank you, teachers.
